A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Reading has been nabbed in Puerto Rico.

A man wanted on homicide charges in Puerto Rico has been arrested in Reading.

Deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Berks County Sheriff's Department nabbed Miguel Reyes-Velez while he was sitting on the porch of a home in the 500 block of South 11th Street around 1:30 p.m. Monday, officials said.

"He will now be in Berks County jail and be facing extradition back to Puerto Rico," said Berks County District Attorney John Adams.

Charges were filed last Thursday against Reyes-Velez, 25, for his alleged role in a homicide in San Sebastian, P.R. on July 16, 2011, said officials, who noted that Reyes-Velez also went by the name of Junito.

Both Miguel Reyes-Velez and his brother, Josue Reyes-Velez, were arrested at their place of employment in Leesport, Berks Co., on Feb. 11, 2013.

Josue was charged then for his alleged involvement in the same homicide; Miguel was slapped with unrelated charges, including false identification for allegedly helping his brother obtain a phony Pennsylvania driver's license.
