It's already beginning to look like Christmas in downtown Reading.

READING, Pa. -

It's already beginning to look like Christmas in downtown Reading.

Workers carefully and skillfully put the city's official Christmas tree in place at 5th and Penn streets Friday afternoon.

The 25-foot Douglas fir was donated by Russell Yeich, of Kenhorst, who has been watching over the tree for the past 20 years or so.

Workers will return next week to decorate the tree, which will be lighted during the city's annual holiday parade down Penn Street next Sat., Nov. 17. The theme of the parade, of which 69 News is a sponsor, is "Heralding Our Winter Holidays."

An electric menorah and a nativity scene will also be added to the area around the tree.
