Caught on camera: Man robs gas station in West Reading at gunpoint

Several West Reading gas station workers say they are lucky to be alive after they were held up at gunpoint.
A man armed with a gun robbed the Lukoil gas station on Penn Avenue shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday, said Detective Joe Brown, West Reading Police Dept., who noted that the robber fled with about $34.
One of the cashiers working at the time of the robbery, Mary Schildt, says she still can't keep her hands from shaking.
"Because I thought I would never see my kids again," Schildt said. "That was the first thought in my head."
Standing behind Mary, bravely facing down the robber, was Grace Craze, her manager.
Thanks to her time served in the Navy down in Guantanamo Bay, she says she knew how to keep her calm.
"I just kept staring at him and trying to remember everything I could about him. What I could see of his face through the mask," Craze said. "I've had a lot of roughnecks around me. It's just, you got to keep you're head level and give them what they want."
Not realizing security cameras were rolling, the robber can be seen putting on his mask in the parking lot.
After the robbery, the bandit can be seen leaving the gas station, taking off his mask.
Meanwhile, the two gas station workers say they are just breathing a huge sigh of relief.
"I hope nobody has to go through this again. So I hope they get him," Schildt said.
