A suspect has been arrested in the deadly shooting of a man outside a diner in Berks County, authorities announced Wednesday.

WEST READING, Pa. -

Police are one step closer to solving a brutal killing, thanks to surveillance footage shown on 69 News, authorities announced Wednesday.

Police arrested Jomaine Sherelle Case and charged him in connection with the murder of Julio Torres.

Torres, 34, of Reading, was shot in the head in the parking lot of the West Reading Diner on Penn Avenue in West Reading early on the morning of March 24. He died a week later.

Investigators said Case came in to speak with authorities after members of his family spotted him on 69 News, said Berks County District Attorney John Adams.

While Case is not believed to be the shooter, authorities said he did play a key role in the killing.

"Case was with the shooter prior to the shooting, during the shooting," Adams said. "Mr. Case struck the victim in his head prior to the shooting, and also provided a firearm to the shooter."

Police said that, so far, Case has not been cooperative with their investigation.

Detectives said there were 50 people in the diner the night of the shooting, but have since had trouble getting witnesses to come forward.

"We need help," said Chief Edward Fabriziani, West Reading Police Dept. "If there's somebody out there they can call us. We know there's people out there that either seen some thing, no matter how minute."

Case continues to claim he did not know the shooter, who is still at large, police said.
Case is facing charges of first and third degree murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault , possessing instruments of a crime, simple assault, and receiving stolen property.
