The two men hoping to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach ran unopposed for their respective party's nomination.
Democrat Manan Trivedi and Republican Ryan Costello, however, weren't taking it easy during Tuesday's primary election as they prepare to face each other in November's general election.
Each candidate greeted voters outside polling places throughout the district, which includes parts of Berks, Chester, Lebanon and Montgomery counties.
Trivedi, a Reading Hospital physician and Iraq war veteran, unsuccessfully challenged Gerlach for the seat in 2010 and 2012.
Costello is an attorney and chairman of the Chester County Board of Commissioners.
Gerlach, a Republican, announced in January that he would not seek a seventh term in Congress.
