Police are trying to find three men behind an assault outside the Shillington Farmer's Market in Berks County.

It happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday as a 23-year-old man was waiting to meet a friend in the market's parking lot on South Summit Avenue.

Three men asked the 23-year-old man to use his cell phone, and when the man agreed, he was assaulted, police said.

The victim managed to fight off his attackers, suffering minor injuries to his face and hands, police said.

The three assailants were described as being black or Hispanic men with a light skin tone. They were in their mid- to late-teens, standing approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a thin build, police said.
