Commuters will soon have a new way to travel between Reading and Harrisburg, at least for the time-being.

READING, Pa. -

Commuters in Reading will have a new way to travel to Harrisburg on Monday.

The Berks Area Regional Transit Authority is joining forces with Lebanon Transit to provide bus service between Reading and Harrisburg, through Lebanon County.

The route will start at the station on Franklin Street in Reading and then makes stops in Womelsdorf and Myerstown before arriving in Lebanon.

From there, passengers will board Lebanon Transit buses to get to Harrisburg.

The total trip between Reading and Harrisburg would be $6.

Officials say the volume of ridership will determine if the service will become permanent.
