SMITHFIELD TWP., Pa. -

An armed robber got away with a little green at a gas station early St. Patrick's Day in Monroe County.

According to police, the man, threatened a clerk with a baseball bat and demanded money from the register at the Gulf station at 834 Seven Bridges Rd. in Smithfield Township around 4:15 a.m. Monday.

When the clerk refused, the robber then came around the desk and the clerk opened the register, police said. The man got away with approximately $100.

The man was described as a white male, around 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds.

He was wearing a black zippered hood, khaki cargo pants, white sneakers, with a black knit cap and a white bandana over his face.

Police said the robber arrived and fled in a white SUV with a trailer hitch on the rear, possibly a Chevrolet or SUV.
