UPPER HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

Two adults are facing retail theft and corruption of minors charges after allegedly using a 13-year-old child to shoplift from a Walmart in Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County.

Police say 30-year-old Samantha Lynn Wagenhurst and 29-year-old Carlos Javier Martinez were with two children at the store on Gravel Pike recently when security personnel saw them place numerous electronic items and DVDs into a shopping cart.

That's when police say the two adults instructed one of the children, a 13-year-old boy, to push the cart out of the store without paying. Police say the other child is a 4-year-old boy.

Police say the total value of the merchandise was $528.

Police say Wagenhurst was arrested at the scene. Martinez fled the scene, but later turned himself in, according to police.
