If you're trying to call in or out of Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest's campus, it may take a few tries to get through.

Hospital officials are reporting a phone problem Friday morning due to a car accident on Cedar Crest Boulevard.

The phone lines in and out of the hospital campus in Salisbury Twp., Lehigh County are affected.

As of 11 a.m., phone service was out to the Cedar Crest Professional Park across the street from the hospital, officials said.

The hospital is experiencing intermittent interruptions to both incoming and outgoing calls, but internal calls are still going through.

Hospital information systems employees and Verizon are working on the issue, officials said.

Phone service is expected to be fully operational by 5:30 p.m. Friday.

And there's no word on what caused the accident.
