AAA collecting used car and boat batteries
Updated On: Apr 21 2014 12:31:07 PM CDT
AAA is launching the Great Battery Round-up!
Monday through Friday, the organization will be collecting unwanted car and boat batteries at a number of locations in the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
Organizers say dead batteries can discharge sulfuric acid, which can be harmful to humans and hurt the environment.
According to AAA officials, 99 percent of a lead-acid battery is typically recyclable. Almost all parts of the battery can be reclaimed and recycled.
