A Northampton County woman has finally received her citizenship papers after more than eight decades in America.

UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. -

A Northampton County woman has finally received her citizenship papers after more than eight decades in America.

An immigration officer came to County Meadows Senior Living in Upper Macungie Twp., Lehigh Co. on Friday to present Anna Haight with her certificate of citizenship.

Haight and her family came to the U.S. from Italy in the 1920s. Even though she's been living in the U.S, the 93-year-old never received her naturalization documents.

She found out she wasn't technically a citizen after the DMV wouldn't give her a state I.D.
