Late Monday night police released the name of the victim in a fatal stabbing in Reading.
Juan Carlos Lopez Bonilla, 36, was killed in a home in the 500 block of Minor Street, investigators said.
Bonilla died after he was stabbed several times in the head and the body early Sunday morning, authorities said.
"He tried to get up. I held him and he just fell and he died," said a witness who did not want to reveal her identity.
A 10-year-old boy also saw the crime, witnesses said.
The man accused of carrying out the grisly homicide is Julio Angel Ortiz-Lugo.
It's alleged that Lugo entered the home through a second-floor window, according to court documents.
"The suspect had been living there with a female. That relationship ended and the female still resides there, but the suspect was told he was no longer allowed there," said Sgt. John Solecki, Reading Police Dept.
People who live in the home said the victim, Bonilla, was staying at the residence to provide added protection against Ortiz-Lugo.
Tenants add that Ortiz-Lugo had a history of being aggressive and abusive.
"He would argue with my aunt," said Mark Vega, who also lives in the home. "I wouldn't let him hit my aunt. I would get in the middle and push him away."
After Ortiz-Lugo left the home he got into the passenger side of a vehicle, authorities said. Police are now, in addition to looking for the suspect, also looking for that getaway car as well as the person who was behind the wheel.
