Montgomery County prosecutors say a new wiretapping law helped them track down a notorious drug dealer.

POTTSTOWN, Pa. -

Montgomery County prosecutors say a new wiretapping law helped them track down a notorious drug dealer.

Prosecutors have arrested six people including Ryan Gavlick of Pottstown.

Investigators say Gavlick led a marijuana trafficking ring.

They started tracking him in 2005 but they say he used more than a dozen cell phones to stay ahead of them.

Last December a law that lets police use target-specific wiretaps for situations like this finally took effect.

Last month prosecutors say they used that technology to arrest Gavlick and his supplier during an alleged drug deal.
