The Bulldogs girls met a formidable Central Dauphin team on Friday night. But Wilson once again showed just how good they are, taking home District III gold.

HERSHEY, Pa. -

On Thursday night, the Berks Catholic boys captured a District III title at the Giant Center.

24 hours later, the Saints were not the only team from Berks County who could say they accomplished that feat.

The Wilson West Lawn girls knocked off Central Dauphin Friday night, 57-46, to capture the District III AAAA championship. It's the fifth quad-A District III title for the Bulldogs, which ties a District record.

It's also the school's first District title in five years.

The win washes away two years worth of frustration at the District tournament for Wilson. The Bulldogs had lost in the finals and semifinals in that time span.

Avery Marz continued her strong play for Wilson, dropping a game-high 19 points. Jessie Wallace had 12 while Shannon O'Brien added 10 for Wilson.

The Bulldogs will now prepare for the PIAA Tournament.
