Police in Lehigh County are investigating a shooting that left one person dead.
It happened a little before 9:30 last night in the area of Kay Street and Maryland Circle in Whitehall Township.
Police say they found 21-year-old Jamar McLean with several gunshot wounds.
Police say he was a resident in the 3 Maryland Circle apartment building.
The coroner says his office is treating this case as a homicide. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning.
A memorial of flowers and balloons has formed near the site where McLean was found.
For the residents of the Whitehall Commons Apartments in Whitehall Township, the memorial is a reminder that one of their neighbors was murdered.
Wednesday night, police were called there for a report of shots fired.
"Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered a 21-year-old male, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds," said Chief Ted Kohuth.
McLean's sister says he played sports at Allen High School and loved to joke around. He leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.
Investigators are trying to piece together a timeline leading up to McLean's shooting and say they have some solid leads.
Whitehall Police say if anyone calls with information on the case they can remain anonymous.
