Wesley Barrett announces bid for Lehigh County commissioner

An Emmaus businessman plans to run for Lehigh County commissioner.
Wesley Barrett, 32, plans to announce his candidacy Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Wesley Works building at 500 Chestnut Street in Emmaus.
Barrett and his wife Sarah own three businesses in Emmaus: Wesley Works Real Estate, Wesley Works Photography Studio and Wesley Works Entertainment.
He's a lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley and graduated from Emmaus High School. He is a graduate of Quinnipiac University.
He's been a member of the Emmaus Borough Council since 2005.
"I've been a small business owner for the last 20 years. The day-to-day
challenge of balancing a checkbook and growing a business on a limited
budget-all without sacrificing the services my customers need and expect-is
deeply engrained in my approach to governing. It's something I've been
doing since before I could even drive a car!" says Barrett.
"My eight years of experience on the Emmaus Borough Council and involvement on nine separate working committees have shown beyond a doubt that 'nuts-and-bolts' problems faced by local governments require bi-partisan, common sense thinking," he added.
