Upsets a big part of D-11 soccer semifinal round

The District 11 soccer semifinals featured a few upsets Tuesday night, including a pair of wins by Parkland.

The District soccer semifinals are tonight. All of them. Eight games in four locations. So soccer fans had plenty of options if they were planning to head out tonight.  The games turned out to be quite good.  Northwestern's girls won as the top seed, beating Southern Lehigh behind Sarah Segan's all-around effort, the 3-1 win setting them up against Blue Mountain in the championship game.

Parkland's girls also won, beating LVC rival Whitehall in the semifinal round.  Lauren Madeira scored the game winner in the Trojans' 2-1 win that puts them in the title round against Easton who advanced with a win over Pleasant Valley.

Parkland's boys also beat Pleasant Valley, scoring 3 goals in the 3-0 win over a good Bears team.  The Trojans will meet Emmaus in the championship game after the Green Hornets upset top seed Stroudsburg.

A pair of upsets took place in the AA boys' bracket where Moravian Academy scored in the 2nd half to beat Saucon Valley, now the Lions will meet Salisbury in the title game, the Falcons knocked off top seed Northwestern in the semifinals.
