A crash on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike has caused a major traffic jam in Montgomery County.

A crash on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike has caused a major traffic jam in Montgomery County.

Police say a car overturned on the northbound lanes of the turnpike in Worcester Township around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at mile marker 25 between the Lansdale and Mid-County exits.

One person had to be freed from the wreckage.

There's no word on that person's condition.

The turnpike reopened at 4:30.

Police say the traffic backup, stretching six miles back to Mid-County, will take a while to clear.
