Traffic stop yields stolen handguns in Montgomery Co.

TRAPPE BOROUGH, Pa. -

State police said they stopped a car just before 11 p.m. on Harvard Drive in Trappe Borough on March 1 for expired inspection and emissions stickers.

As they investigated further, they found the driver, 21-year-old Devon Arnett Barnes of Norristown, in possession of two stolen handguns, police said.

The handguns were stolen earlier in the day in a burglary in Perkiomen Twp., police said.

Barnes was charged with receiving stolen property and other firearms act violations.

Barnes was taken to the Montgomery County Prison after he was unable to post $50,000 bail.
