The YMCA of Reading and Berks County is launching a program to fight child sexual abuse.

READING, Pa. -

The YMCA of Reading and Berks County is launching a program to fight child sexual abuse.

The Y is partnering with several organizations to offer "The Stewards of Children" program. It's a workshop aimed at teaching adults how to recognize, prevent and react to abuse.

Te YMCA touches the lives of so many children. We actually have 700 children in our day care program, and it's only day three, in addition to child care and housing and swim lessons," said Kim Johnson, YMCA of Reading and Berks County. "So, we just felt that the YMCA should absolutely be the leader in Berks County in helping to prevent child sexual abuse.
