LOWER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. -

A road rage incident apparently spilled over into a fight that left two men injured from hammer blows.

Police said a fight at the Walmart Tire Lube Express area at 3722 Easton-Nazareth Highway, Lower Nazareth Twp., broke out after a road rage incident on Route 248 in Northampton County.

Ahmed Gospodev, 24, of Stroudsburg, allegedly cut off a car driven by one of the two victims, then followed them into the parking lot, police said.

Gospodev got a hammer out of the trunk of his car, and the other two got out of their car and the three started arguing, police said.

After some pushing, police said Gospodev started swinging the hammer, and hit one of the victims in the head. The other sustained a facial injury.

The two were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police arrested Gospodev on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and possessing instruments of crime.

Gospodev, of 2127 Main St., Stroudsburg, Monroe Co., was arraigned and committed to the Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 24.
