Storm dumps snow in eastern Berks

We waited all day but around dinner time Friday the snow started to lay and stick.
And since we haven't had lots of snow this season some said it's about time.
"I want snow. The more snow the better," said Matt Schwartz of M.S. Schwartz Construction, "Because it's more money in the pocket."
Schwartz wanted snow and was ready to plow it.
"Just salt, calcium chloride and all the good stuff," said Schwartz pointing to his pick up truck.
And once the flakes fell there were many in Berks County happy to see it.
"I think it's great," said Amanda Wolf of Leesport, "We haven't had snow like this in a while so I love it."
Wolf said it's slippery out on the roads in Ontelaunee Township, but the pluses outweigh the minuses.
"The last time that it snowed it was like a dry snow. This is good packing snow," said Wolf.
Berks County schools have had snow days that have left many kids without much to play with. This wet heavy snow should make their weekend. Some adults would rather pass.
"Just don't like it, too cold," said a driver from Hamburg, "I'd rather cut grass than shovel snow."
"You have to have a good winter just like you have a to have a good summer, spring or fall," said Marty Mager of Maidencreek Township.
Mager said adults can play too.
"Just getting some gasoline to get the snow mobile started," said Mager at the Sheetz on Route 61, "We have a couple of them and maybe by morning we'll have enough to ride, pretty nice."
But he wanted more than the predicted 1 to 3 inches.
"I'd like to see about 8 inches that way you don't get pounded to death with the snowmobile," said Mager.
And he said he has his own way to predict the snowfall amounts.
"My bones hurt, my knees, certain things and it doesn't stop hurting until the snow stops," said Mager.
He expected to ache all night.
"You tell Rob and Wendy, Marty said, '5 to 8'" said Mager.
We'll have to see if Marty's prediction comes true. Farther west and north of city there is more snow. In Reading, the roads are coated.
