PALMER TWP., Pa. -

A man is facing a shoplifting charge after his girlfriend ran away and store security caught him with a satchel bag full of stolen men's and women's clothing, officials said.

Todd R. Hoadley was arrested at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday after store security stopped him with an Arie bag stuffed with $241.99 in clothing taken from the Boscov's store at 121 Palmer Park Mall, Palmer Twp., Northampton Co., officials said.

Hoadley and his girlfriend were seen filling the bag with the merchandise, including one pair of women's turk shorts; a pair of feather pants; two pairs of men's shorts; four T-shirts, and a pair of pants, officials said, adding that Hoadley's girlfriend took off before police arrived.

Hoadley, 43, of 2880 Blossom Hill Road, Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., was arraigned early Sunday morning on a retail theft charge and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $7,500 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. April 19.

Last December, Hoadley pleaded guilty to filing a false report to police three months before, when he accused a detective of assaulting him on his front porch in front of witnesses.
