Two Scranton-area men who are facing criminal charges in Northampton County are in more hot water.

Three municipalities in Carbon and Schuylkill Counties have sued Municipal Energy Managers Incorporated, Robert Kearns and Patrick McLaine.

Coaldale, Lansford and Tamaqua are suing.

Altogether they paid Kearns and McLaine $873,000 to help buy streetlights from PPL.

They say the men didn't deliver on their end of the deal.

Kearns and McLaine are also facing criminal fraud charges in Northampton County.

They allegedly bilked Bethlehem Township out of more than $800,000 in a similar streetlight deal.

Bethlehem Township has also filed a civil suit against Kearns and McLaine.
