Schuylkill Valley, Wilson wrestlers earn top seeds at BCIAA Tournament
The top wrestling teams from around Berks County will meet at Wyomissing on Saturday for the BCIAA Team Wrestling Championships.
Division II champion Schuylkill Valley earned a bye into the semi-finals after another outstanding season.
The Panthers didn't just win within Berks County. The team won a national tournament down in Florida, marking a turning point in the season.
The Panthers say the experience in Florida not only improved their wrestling skills, but brought them together as a team.
The other top seed in the tournament is Wilson West Lawn, the defending county champions.
The Bulldogs went undefeated through Berks I en route to another division title this season.
Even with the success over the past few years, Wilson hasn't changed their attitude every time they hit the mats.
The rest of the field includes Brandywine Heights, Exeter, Governor Mifflin and Hamburg.
In Saturday's quarterfinals, Governor Mifflin will face Brandywine while Exeter will take on Hamburg. Both duals begin at noon.
The semi-finals will start 2:00 Saturday with the finals scheduled for a 6:00 start.
