Saleem Faulk accused of robbing and/or raping 10 women
An Allentown man has been charged with robbing and/or assaulting 10 women over the past month.
The Lehigh County District Attorney charged Saleem Faulk, 43, of the 400 block of Washington Street with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, robbery of a motor vehicle and robbery among other things.
All but one of the incidents happened in the area between North Penn and 7th streets; Carey and Tilghman streets, police said. The other incident happened near 11th and Walnut streets, they said.
Police say the first of the incidents happened on September 18th in the 500 block of Tilghman Street. A woman reported being raped by two men who threatened her with a sawed-off shotgun. The men also stole her purse and cell phone.
On the same night, another woman walking near 11th and Walnut streets was approached by a man holding a gun and wearing a mask, police said. Her purse and cell phone were also taken.
Later on the night of September 18th, a woman reported having her cell phone and car keys stolen by two men who approached her and put a gun to her head, police said.
On October 25th a woman, police said, a woman reported walking in the 600 block of N. Fifth Street when she was confronted by a man with a mask. He was holding a gun and demanded the woman's car keys. He then took her car and drove away.
On October 30th a woman was sitting on her porch in the 500 block of Tilghman Street when a man, wearing a mask, demanded her purse, police said. She refused to hand it over and the man fled.
On November 5th, police said a woman was getting out of her car near Fifth and James streets when a man with a sawed-off shotgun approached her. The woman tried to run but fell, police said. The man then struck her in the head with the shotgun and stole her purse, wallet and cell phone.
Two victims reported being sexually assaulted and robbed by a man in the area of Fifth and James streets on November 5, 2012, police said. They had stopped to ask the man directions when he pulled out a shotgun and demanded their belongings. He then threatened them and sexually assaulted them, police said.
They say a woman, sitting in the passenger seat of her parked car in the 690 block of N. Fifth Street on November 11th reported being threatened by a man holding a shotgun who demanded that she hand over her purse. The victim grabbed her dog from the car and fled leaving behind her wallet, purse and cell phone. The man drove off in her car.
