Route 145 accident in North Whitehall Twp.
NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. -

A Lehigh County man was killed after his car crashed into another in North Whitehall Twp. Thursday night.

Ronald John Toribio was traveling south on Route 145, just north of Neffs Laurys Road, when he failed to make a right curve, police said.

His car crossed the center line and hit a car driven by Tonya Marie Lee, 22, of Danielsville, which was traveling north on Route 145, police said.

On impact, Lee's car crashed into the embankment on the east side of the road.

Toribio's car traveled from the southbound lanes across the northbound and also hit the embankment on the east side.

Toribio, 24, of 1951 Schadt Ave., Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., was trapped in his car and had to be extricated before taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital with severe injuries, said police, who noted that he was not wearing a seat belt.

Toribio later died of multiple injuries, according to the Lehigh County coroner.

Lee and her passenger -- 21-year-old Brittany Peters, of Danielsville -- were also taken to LVH with minor injuries; police said both were wearing a seat belt.
