Roads are slippery: play it safe!

As the precipation continues to fall Monday, roads will be getting slippery.
Most of the roads are mainly wet, but as the temperatures stay around or below freezing, conditions may get a little slippery.
PennDOT crews have been on the road getting ready for the wintry mix.
Roads have been salted.
PennDOT recommends drivers go at a slower speed and allow more distance between them and the vehicles in front of them.
Allow about six car lengths behind snowplows so they can do their job, says Ron Young with PennDOT.
Around the region, the snow could change into ice, which could make for slick spots especially in the higher elevations and on bridges and overpasses.
Many area schools are closed Monday, which will take traffic off the roads.
Young urges drivers to take their time and drive courteously. Allow extra time to get to your destination.
