Reading police are getting down to the nitty-gritty with local business leaders.

WYOMISSING, Pa. -

Reading police are getting down to the nitty-gritty with local business leaders.

The Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its "State of the Community" breakfast at the Crowne Plaza in Wyomissing on Friday.

The focus was on crime and quality of life. Police talked to the crowd about the reality of crime in Berks County and what they're doing about it.

"It's an unfiltered message among the people that deal with this day in and day out., and I think it's really valuable," said Heim.

Reading Mayor Vaughn Spencer and District Attorney John Adams were also among those on the panel.
