Reading residents will start seeing fewer bills next month.

READING, Pa. -

Reading residents will start seeing fewer bills next month. The city is combining trash and recycling bills with water and sewer bills.

Here's what it means:  Fees for all four services will appear on one bill.

Fees for trash, which used to be billed quarterly, and recycling, which used to be billed annually, will now be due monthly.

Residents will have a better sense of what they owe when they see the new bills, officials said.

"What we're gonna show on the first bill in May is the amounts for trash and recycling for January, February, March and April," said Dean Miller, executive director, Reading Area Water Authority. "As we move to June, it will be a monthly amount."

RAWA is also providing more options for people to pay their bills. More information is available online in both English and Spanish.

The move is expected to save the city $125,000.
