Getting ready for college finals can be nerve-racking for students.

Getting ready for college finals can be nerve-racking for students.

But Wednesday, Lehigh Carbon Community College found a unique way to lighten the mood.

It's the tasty treat that many of us ate as a kid but eating pudding to -- relax?

"Our motive is just to have fun,"said Sarah McGuigon, one of the event organizers. "We just want them to have a good time and just keep their mind off of finals for now.”

Around a dozen Lehigh Carbon Community College students took part in a pudding eating contest.

“The rules are you get to choose between chocolate and vanilla," added Andrew Van Kuren, another event organizer. "You get a plate of pudding, no hands and the fastest time wins.”

The event is part of relax-a-palooza at the college. It's a chance for students to relax before finals week.

“When they are having finals, they get too stressed out and might do really bad," said McGuigon. "Anxiety goes up really badly and they just do poor on their finals. And it could cause bad grades, failing grades.”

“I was stressed over 8 papers that I have to write and now I am just relaxed," added Dennis Okeloo, a freshman at LCCC. "Just happy to have done this.”

Students licked and even face planted their way to the finish line of pudding paradise.

“Eating contest have been pretty much famous for like the last week, said McGuigon. "We had ice cream the other week and all that great stuff.”

Other events included shark videos and bringing in therapy dogs.

From the looks of it, pudding may be the most popular.

“I really like it and hopefully I can get to first place next time,” added Okeloo.

It's an event students are looking forward to next year.
