Police investigating two violent Pottstown robberies

POTTSTOWN, Pa. -

Pottstown police are calling on the public to help to locate a man believed to be responsible for a pair of violent robberies.

He held up a McDonalds restaurant in the 1400 block of E. High Street in Pottstown on Friday, September 13, around 4:30 in the morning, police said.

A surveillance image shows the alleged robber with his face covered, wearing a grey hoodie and black shorts with a white stripe along the side.

During the robbery investigators say a McDonalds employee was injured before the man escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The same man is also accused of robbing a woman on September 15th, just after midnight, in the parking lot next to the Brick House restaurant in the 100 block of E. High Street, police said.

The woman's boyfriend tried to stop the robbery, but he was injured, detectives said.

"We're not sure how he left the area. We know he left both scenes on foot, but we have not been able to locate him at this time," said Capt. Robert Thomas.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Pottstown Police Detective Division at (610) 970-6570.
