Police: Thief steals jewelry worth $12,000 from Lansdale home

LANSDALE, Pa. -

Police are looking for the person who broke into a Montgomery County home and stole jewelry value at more than $12,000.

The incident happened sometime between 7 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 24 while the residents weren't at a home on Williamsburg Road in the Heritage Valley development of Lansdale.

Police said the homeowner returned to find that someone had stolen jewelry from their bedroom, as well as several bottles of alcohol and a bag containing clothing that was set aside for charity.

Police said the thief got into the house through an unlocked door.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lansdale Police at 215-368-1801.

Police are urging residents to make sure all doors are locked before leaving their homes.
