A pizza deliveryman was shot in the face during a robbery attempt in Reading, police said Monday night.
Police say they already have one person in custody for questioning and the Dominos Pizza deliveryman who was shot in the face is currently in stable condition.
The delivery call was a phony one, officials said.
The people who ordered pizza from Dominos had no intention of eating pizza.
"Someone called in a delivery for an address on this block. We spoke to the people at the house and they said they didn't order pizza," said police.
Authorities say, when the pizza deliveryman arrived at the 500 block of Birch Street around 8:45 p.m., he was shot in the face.
Investigators say three Hispanic men were behind the robbery that left a delivery man in the hospital fighting for his life.
Neighbors said they didn't hear a thing.
Police also say they have recovered a loaded handgun near the scene but no word if it is related to this crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
