Police in Schuylkill County say it was a domestic situation that left a man dead.
The victim was found stabbed to death in his home in Mahanoy City Sunday morning and new details emerged Monday.
The victim, 52-year-old Larry Quinn, was found in the kitchen area and had a single stab wound to the chest, according to police.
"We do know who committed the stabbing. It was a domestic type incident," said Lt. John Kaczmarczyk with the Mahanoy City Police Department.
"There's still some questions on exactly what happened in the residence. The district attorney's office made the decision not to make an arrest at this time until we process the evidence and find out a little bit more."
Police say the person who stabbed Quinn lived in the house with him. The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday at a house on E. Mahanoy Street.
"Knocked on the door and she said to Terry, 'Can you call the cops? Dial 911. I just killed Larry. I stabbed him in the chest,'" described neighbor Lisa Raisner.
According to a court document, the woman who stabbed Quinn is Kimberly Hons, the daughter of Quinn's girlfriend.
The paperwork also says Hons admitted to an officer she stabbed Quinn. It goes on to say Hons and Quinn got into a fight after Hons confronted Quinn for allegedly slapping her mother, causing a bloody nose.
The document says Hons reached for a knife and stabbed Quinn after he grabbed her by the throat and pinned her against the counter top.
"We're still investigating it with the district attorney's office to determine what, if any, charges are to be filed," said Lt. Kaczmarczyk. "There have not been any arrests made at this point. We're waiting on forensic results and the autopsy."
The autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m. Tuesday.
