FORKS TWP., Pa. -

Plans to build an addition on the Victaulic Guest House moved ahead on Thursday night at the Forks Township supervisors meeting. Tim Weis, the code enforcement and zoning officer for the township, presented Victaulic’s development plan to the supervisors in one of the final stages of approval for a commercial project.

“I just gave the board a heads up about when Victaulic comes in two weeks,” Weis said.

Victaulic’s plans have already been presented to the planning commission and approved by an engineer. As code enforcement and zoning officer, Weis has been involved in this step-by-step process and took the opportunity to inform the board about these plans so they were fully in the know when the plans are officially presented to them at their next regular meeting on March 21.

The former Uhler’s Hotel has been owned by Victaulic, a mechanical pipe producer, since 1984 for use as a guesthouse for their business associates. In October, they had the historic building picked up and moved back several hundred feet from the sidewalk.

Now, Victaulic hopes to expand the building while keeping with its historic style and appearance, according to Weis.

The Forks Township supervisors board went over the entire development plan with Weis at Thursday night’s meeting. Their discussion covered various aspects of the plan and will continue at their next meeting.
