People still without power hours after storm

Old man winter brought another blast of snow, sleet and freezing rain to the region Wednesday morning.
It was fast, but its damage was widespread, leaving thousands of people without power.
"I went out sometime between 6 and 6:30 this morning, and it has been off ever since," said Chris Meyer, of Mohnton.
Met-Ed said the ice is to blame. It is laying on both power lines and trees, causing lines to come down all throughout the county.
"I am a little frustrated because I see that everything is thawing out in my freezer," said John Liptock, of Mohnton.
Preserving food is a common concern. That is why Meyer started transporting his food to a neighboring house with a generator.
"Last thing I heard was that it might be out for a couple of days, so just trying to make sure the pipes do not freeze up and nothing goes bad in the fridge," said Meyer.
Homeowners also said it is hard to keep their homes heated with the power being out for 12-plus hours.
"It is 58 in the house but I have the fireplace going," said Liptock.
So they are turning to the few neighbors with generators for assistance.
"We have been great. We have our grandson over here, my mom and the dog and neighbors have been popping so it is been kind of a cool snowy icy day," said Suzi Berry, of Mohnton.
With temperatures expected to stay below freezing for the next few days, people said they hope the power comes back sooner rather than later.
"It could even be several days. So we will just get through it," said Liptock.
Met-Ed said it could take a few days to fully restore power.
State officials said not to use a secondary heating source such as a gas or charcoal stove to heat your home because it could become a fire hazard. Instead, they said call your local emergency management office to find a shelter or warming station.
