Pair admit to lesser charge in beating death of man in Phillipsburg

Two men accused of beating another man to death have admitted to the crime.

PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. -

Two men accused of beating another man to death have admitted to the crime.

Joshua Dalrymple and Nicholas Yerian pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated manslaughter. Both men were originally charged with murder.

The pair admitted to beating Scott Patronick near the Hilltop Cafe in Phillipsburg, Warren Co., N.J., on Feb. 28, 2011, officials said. Patronick, 47, later died at Warren Hospital.

Dalrymple, 28, is facing a maximum sentence of 14 years in state prison; Yerian, 26, is facing 12 years. Sentencing is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 16.
