The Lukoil in West Reading is back in business.

WEST READING, Pa. -

The Lukoil gas station and convenience store in West Reading is back in business.

Hamid Chaudhry recently took over the closed franchise at 4th and Penn avenues and celebrated with a grand reopening on Friday.

The event, featuring a live Feedback broadcast on WEEU, doubled as a fundraiser for Crime Alert Berks County.

The gas station accepts Redner's rewards points. The convenience store sells a variety of items, including fresh sandwiches, doughnuts and coffee.

Chaudhry is certainly no stranger to the food business. He also owns Dairy Queen franchises in Exeter Township, Kenhorst and at the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing and the Mustang Grill restaurant in Wyomissing.

Chaudhry is also a big contributor to local charities and non-profit organizations. Last year, events he hosted at his various businesses raised more than $100,000.
