The hunt continues for the gunman who killed a man outside a popular bar Friday morning.
Officials say 27-year-old Victor Vonilla-Baev died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Evidence markers scattered the street and sidewalk, and crime scene tape roped off the outside of Brian's Cafe in the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue in Pottstown, Montgomery Co.
"It was like bang, bang, bang, like repeatedly," said Amber Dise, who woke up to the sound of gunshots.
"Pum, pum, pum, pum, pum and that's all I heard," said Bruce Ricketts, who lives only three houses up from the scene.
People living nearby said they heard multiple gunshots just after 2 a.m. Friday.
"My friend was awake and she looked out the window and she seen all these people run down the street," said Dise.
"I heard a lot of noises and while my eyes were closed there was flashing lights and an ambulance outside," said Matt Keegan, who lives behind the bar.
When police responded to the scene, they found Vonilla-Baev shot outside, said investigators. He was rushed to Pottstown Memorial Hospital by ambulance, and was later pronounced dead.
"I have a 3-year-old son and it's just, I don't really like the fact I live outside a bar and there's a shooting outside," said Carrie Love, who lives down the street from where the shots were fired.
Now, residents want to know exactly what happened and want the killer caught.
"I was like I hope they don't come over here trying to get in my place," said Ricketts.
"I don't feel safe living here anymore, like I don't know it's crazy," said Dise.
Residents said crime in the borough is getting out of control, and police have responded to Brian's Cafe before. Some even called it a "troubled spot."
The owner of Brian's Cafe had no comment. He said the bar will remain closed Friday.
No arrests have been made as of yet.
