The Major Indoor Soccer League welcomed the city of Reading as a new member.

READING, Pa. -

The Major Indoor Soccer League welcomed the city of Reading as a new member.

The Pennsylvania Roar will start their first season at the Sovereign Center this November.

Sports fans in the area look forward to having a new team to cheer for in the area.

Locals like Terry Newman say that this would be more exciting if the team name was 'Reading Roar' instead.

"I think having that Reading feel to it would just pull a lot more people in and give it a hometown feel -- more than just Pennsylvania," said Newman.

Local sports enthusiasts like Robyn Lance agrees but she thinks that people will still come out to see the new team.

"When it's local, you can just tell because everyone gets into it -- screaming, yelling, and carrying on and it makes the game more exciting," said Lance.

Additional details about The Pennsylvania Roar will be released at a press conference on July 30th.
