A Senate Republican plan would allow bars, beer distributors and restaurants to sell bottles of wine, as well as six-packs of beer.

Democrats oppose that.

They say it would sap $50-million from the state treasury.

The latest GOP plan diverges drastically from a previous proposal to shut down the state-controlled wine and liquor system.
