NJ sports betting referendum

New Jersey voters, meantime, are deciding whether to legalize betting on sports.

A referendum is on the ballot but even if voters approve it, federal lawmakers would have to repeal a sports betting ban in New Jersey and 45 other states before moving forward.

Tuesday's vote comes as more New Jersey gamblers are coming to Pennsylvania.

Mount Airy and Bethlehem's Sands casinos say 70 of the 221 million they paid in gaming taxes last year came from New Jersey residents.
That figure doesn't include table games.
