NCAA RUNDOWN: Alvernia men, Kutztown women move on
The Alvernia men and Kutztown women each won playoff games on Saturday.
Alvernia beat Albertus Magnus 97-78 in Reading in the first round of the NCAA Div. III Tournament.
The Crusaders will face St. Mary's (MD) in a second round matchup next Saturday.
Delaware Valley lost its first round matchup 76-61 at Virginia Wesleyan.
It marks the second time in the last three years that the Aggies have lost a first round game at Virginia Wesleyan.
The 4th-seeded Kutztown women beat No. 5 West Chester 83-72 in the first round of the PSAC women's playoffs at Keystone Arena.
The Golden Bears will travel to Bloomsburg, the No. 1 seed in the PSAC East, on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round.
No. 6 East Stroudsburg was eliminated in a 42-31 loss at No. 3 Millersville Saturday night.
The Moravian women advanced to the ECAC South Championship game with a 68-64 win over Juniata at Johnston Hall.
The Greyhounds will host Swarthmore at 1pm on Sunday for the title.
The Albright men also reached the ECAC South Championship game, thanks to an 82-71 win over LaRoche at the Bollman Center.
The Lions will host Juniata on Saturday, which ended DeSales' season in the other ECAC South semifinal on Saturday.
