BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A motorist who was spotted early Thursday morning driving without his headlights turned on is facing drug and other charges, officials said.

Daniel Cardona was arrested at Broadway and Bishopthorpe Street at about 2:30 a.m., after police first observed him driving without headlights a few blocks before, officials said.

When police searched the center console of Cardona's silver 2000 Cadillac Seville, they discovered a large plastic bag with three sandwich-size baggies of marijuana inside, officials said, adding that $407 in cash was found on Cardona.

Cardona, 29, of 952 Moravia St., Fountain Hill, Northampton Co., was arraigned on charges of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia, DUI and driving without required lighted lamps and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $10,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 12.
