MOUNT PENN, Pa. -

Three men who robbed a Subway at gunpoint Sunday night are behind other holdups around the region, police said Monday.

The Subway, in the 2200 block of Howard Boulevard in Mount Penn, Berks Co., closed at 9 p.m., and while a sole employee was locking up the restaurant around 9:30, a black man approached the door an asked for a drink of water, police said.

When the employee opened the door, police said the man, along with two others, forced their way inside the restaurant, pushing the employee to the ground, pointing a gun to his head, tying him up and placing him in the freezer.

The three men then got away with money, according to police.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. The crime stoppers organization is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
