The Liberty Hurricanes struggled in 2012, but with a new coach in place and a renewed enthusiasm, they think this season can be much better.

As we continue our training camp tour throughout our region, there are plenty of teams that are hoping to take steps forward and be better than last year. Nowhere is there more optimism for a big jump forward than at Liberty with the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes won only three times last year, but this is still a team and a program with a lot of talent so there is plenty of optimism from that side of things.  Plus, new head coach John Truby and his staff have brought a lot of new enthusiasm to this year's camp. So while Truby may be nervous about the opening night of game action, his kids are enjoying the lead up to that and the hard work they're putting in.
