Lambertville Theatre runs into drama

The Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope typically sets the stage for drama but this fall fans can expect a different act.
A 10 day concert series is set for October with acts like Eddie Money, Travis Tritt and Joan Osborne.
The music is a fundraiser for the Bridge Street Foundation, a non profit, that recently breathed new life into the Playhouse. It now wants to do something similar across the river at Lambertville's First Baptist Church.
"We would love for this music hall to represent all kinds genres of music. National acts, regional acts, local talent and student programs," foundation President Tanya Cooper said.
The foundation hopes to convert the church into a 500 seat music hall with a 130 seat restaurant.
The church may not be a playhouse but the project certainly has a lot of drama.
While some are singing for joy others are carrying a different tune. To convert the church the organization is hoping to get a zoning change.
But the problem is parking - or lack thereof. Even on a Tuesday afternoon spaces are sparse.
Residents like Paul Kaye worry the music hall will make it even worse.
"We get shop owners who park on the street, tourists who park on the street. I happen to be a resident who can't park on the street, no spaces," he complains.
The organization is working with several lots for more parking options even using a school and shuttling people in.
Which would be a welcome site for restaurant owner Arron Sneddon.
"I like the fact that there will be more people in town and I think good for business," Sneddon said.
But could the bump in business bump residents from their spaces?
Locals will have a chance to sound off again at a public hearing later this month.
