Lafayette suffers first loss as second half rally falls short

Lafayette staged a furious second half rally Saturday night, but ultimately fell short in a 31-28 loss at Robert Morris.

The Leopards fell behind Robert Morris 28-7 at halftime, but rallied to score three straight second half touchdowns to tie the game at 28-28.

But Robert Morris kicked a 33-yard field goal with just 19 seconds left to seal the 31-28 win.

The loss was the first of the season for Lafayette, which falls to 3-1 on the year.

Mark Ross had 13 catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns for the Leopards.

Andrew Shoop threw for 268 yards and three scores.

Lafayette will return home to Fisher Stadium on Saturday night to host Princeton at 6pm.
